Cancellation Policy

Chef Joseph Poon has re-opened Chef Kitchen, by reservation only. He prepares each meal especially for you and your guests. Since it is not a walk-in restaurant, Chef Poon only prepares for the number in your party, as confirmed 24 hours in advance. Chef Poon will prepare a beautiful meal for each of your guests and charge you for the number of meals that you order (by  providing the final headcount). Please explain to your guests that we are preparing a meal for each of them and if they do not show up, we will charge you for the meal we prepared. The same policy applies to banquets, tours, cooking classes and team building events.

Final Headcount:

Final headcount is due 24 hours prior to event. Chef will prepare for the number given in the final headcount. Final headcounts can be called in to: 215/928-9333.

It is very important to confirm each guest’s attendance, as we will prepare the number of meals that you confirm. After you have given us your final headcount, you will be charged for ALL meals that you ordered, including no shows for whom we’ve prepared meals.

When you call in your headcount, if you have cancellations that reduce your party to less than 6, you can still come and pay for 6 OR you can reschedule.

Cancellation Policy:

If you can not honor your reservation PLEASE pay us the courtesy of calling 215/928-9333 more than 24 hours in advance.

All guests have the right to increase or decrease their party size or even cancel their event. Likewise, Chef Poon occasionally needs to cancel events.

Reservation times:

Please try to be on time. Since banquets are served family-style, we can not begin until your whole party is present.  If you are running more than 10 minutes late, please call 215/928-9333 and let us know. As a courtesy, we will hold your table for 30 minutes after your reservation time. Sorry, but we can not hold your table for more than 30 minutes.

Banquet Size:

It is Chinese tradition to prepare banquets for 12 people or more to be eaten family style. As a courtesy, Chef Poon will accept banquets of only 6 people. If you have a party of less than 6, you can pay for 6 and take extra food home.

Payment:

Cash or check only. No credit cards. All prices are plus tax and tip.

BYOB policy:

We serve Chinese and American beer and wine at the restaurant. If you chose to (BYOB) bring your own bottle, there is a corkage fee of $1.50 per bottle of wine and 25 cents per bottle of beer. Money from corkage fees will be donated to the American Cancer Society or the Joseph Poon Scholarship Fund at State College of New York at Oneonta.

Special Dietary Needs:

If you have special dietary needs (low sodium, vegetarian, allergies, etc.) just let Chef Poon know in advance. He is a trained nutritionist and he is happy to tailor the meal to your needs.
